About

Welcome!

Operating from the scenic Aldinga Aerodrome located in McLaren Vale, on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, the friendly Aldinga Aero Club invites anyone with an interest in aviation to visit our club.

We hold a flying event on the first Sunday of every month, usually in the form of a simple competition to add interest and improve piloting skills. Events kick off on competition days about 10.00 a.m. when pilots are briefed on the rules/requirements for the day’s flight.  The flying is followed by a friendly, informal BYO barbecue lunch at about midday.  Check the Club calendar to see the coming events.

Although official entry in the competitions is available only to Club members, there are often seats available for interested non-pilots.

There are two weekend fly-aways each year, when members visit interesting towns and places on interest in regional South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.

Charity Day

The Club holds an annual charity day when members offer free local flights to children from local charities, and their families or carers.  Our guests are also provided with a free barbecue lunch with soft drinks and ice creams for the children.

Other events

Several non-aviation social events are also held throughout the year, including movie nights and visits to places of interest in the Adelaide area.

Club Rooms

Our club house provides a very comfortable venue for meetings, and also houses a library of aviation books and videos available for loan at a very small cost. Whether you’re a complete novice or a highly experienced pilot, all you need is an interest in aviation and you’ll be more than welcome at The Aldinga Aero Club.

Angel Flight

The Aldinga Aero Club proudly supports Angel Flight, a community service where non-medical emergencies and immediate family members/carers are transported at no expense by volunteer pilots and their aircraft. Club members have conducted more than 300 missions for Angel Flight.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our coming events – check the Club calendar for the next activity.
