Aldinga Aero Club – Club Captain for 2012-2018, Owen Crees.

Owen Crees background:

Owen started flying in a C172 in Mackay QLD. He has been flying for almost 40 years. After the C172, Owen moved into a PA28 and then to a V-Tail Bonanza and a C210. When he moved to Brisbane in 1996, he joined the Brisbane flying group with Grumman Tigers. In 2001, Owen and his wife, Suzette, moved to Adelaide and joined the Aldinga Aero Club a couple of years later, when he purchased his Mooney VH-FAF.  He has a PIFR and more than 2400 hours flying experience.

Owen’s flying usually includes one or two trips to Brisbane to visit his son and old friends, regular fly-ins with the Australian Mooney Pilots Association and Aldinga Aero Club, other activities with the AAC, and Angel Flight. He is a regular public speaker for Angel Flight Australia and has flown more than 180 missions.

Owen makes the following comments about a memorable Angel Flight.

“Some of my most enjoyable flying has been for Angel Flight. I’ve done 182 flights so far – to Broken Hill, Ceduna, Cleve, Cowell, Cummins, Elliston, Hamilton, Jamestown, Kimba, Kingscote, Lock, Loxton, Mildura, Millicent, Mount Gambier, Naracoorte, Port Lincoln, Portland, Port Pirie, Streaky Bay, Wagga Wagga, Whyalla, Wilcannia, Wudinna, Tumby Bay.  Suzette and I have also made memorable trips to far flung parts of Australia, including Port Douglas, Kakadu, Broome, Alice Springs, Canberra and Tasmania.”
