SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 2 – ALDINGA

DAWN PATROL

This is our annual commemoration of the Battle of Britain.  Pilots and crews will be despatched from Aldinga on a mission to deliver Red Cross parcels to captured airmen.

Briefing for pilots will be at 0600 at the club house with departures from 0632 (sunrise).  Pilots will need the Adelaide VTC and their usual navigation equipment.

All members are encouraged to attend and share in a magnificent breakfast that will be served on return of the brave air crews.

SEPTEMBER 29 – OCTOBER 1

BROKEN HILL FLY AWAY

We now have 18 members registered for the trip but there is still time for late-comers to join.  If you can’t fly, you are very welcome to come by car.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 7  – HUNT FIELD

TOP HOOK COMPETITION

Our annual op Hook competition will be held at Hunt Field on the weekend after the Broken Hill trip.  This competition simulates landing on an aircraft carrier and we hope former US Navy pilot Sean Leydon will be able to join us to brief pilots on the procedures and to judge the competition.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 4  – GOOLWA

FUN FLIGHT

The annual Fun Flight day at Goolwa airport.

Fun Flight is a not-for-profit volunteer organisation that offers children and teenagers touched by a life changing illness or other adversity, a day of aviation based entertainment, together with their families.

Aldinga Aero Club runs the flying activities for the day so please come along and help with the organisation on the day, or just to support Fun Flight and your fellow club members.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 2  – ALDINGA

CHRISTMAS BARBECUE AND AERIAL POKER

We don’t usually have any flying activities on the Christmas barbecue day but we haven’t been able to fit in our Aerial poker this year so we’ll start the day with this fun competition.   For those not familiar with the competition, pilots and their passengers each collect a set of playing cards from several airfields to make up poker hand for each participant.  The best hand wins.

It would be appreciated if participating pilots would take some non-pilot members as passengers.
